I’m 5’8 and 17 years old, I have a size 11 shoe and my legs and arms are DRASTICALLY longer than my torso, I also am incapable of growing facial hair yet, my dad is 6’0 tall and my cousin who I take after is 6’2 and did not grow until he was my age, is it possible I will grow taller?
I also have a 6’0 arm span

I heard that once u start exercising your muscles tighten and people dont grow anymore.. I am really short and my age is 14 .. my height is 4’11 .. so I need to grow atleast 4 more inchs soo if i exercise wont i grow anymore ? Are the rumours true ??

I am 17 and 5"7 (Please don’t say that’s a fine height because it isn’t). When I go to the store, I get treated like a child and sometimes people think I’m like a freshman in high school and it really kind of hurts my feelings but I know they don’t know any better.

When me and my dad go places together, I get a BIG taste of the short man vs tall man lifestyle.

My dad is 6"1 and women treat him with respect and sometimes they giggle around him because he is cute and is good at social skills. I am cute to, but the HEIGHT is the big difference. I can’t really explain how women act toward short guys but it’s kind of cold and they DO in fact treat tall guys with more respect.

So I am NOT going to live this short man’s lifestyle for the rest of my life because it’s miserable to me and it makes me depressed when I go out in public to events and such.

Because in our shallow world, height really DOES matter to the majority of the population even though there are those sweethearts that will accept you for who you are and couldn’t care less.

But I’m shallow to, when I see guys like 5"4 I think I am automatically better then them because I am taller. I fight against this thought and get to know the person and they actually turn out to be fairly descent.

But there is a part of me that ALWAYS feels like I am a bit better then them because that is our nature as humans. Which is why I’m really never nervous around guys shorter than me.

Also, I know some of you will say "Puberty isn’t finished for you yet" but it kind of is. I have broad shoulders, pubic hair that extends across my thighs and up to my belly button, a cracked voice, and an adult looking bone structure.

So are height increasing shoes really not bad for a person like me?

I have low blood pressure and my kidneys are functioning very well. I weight 203 lbs and that is normal weight. So I don’t think I have gigantism. I’m currently playing basketball and working out, do you think that is what is causing it? I never take steroids. Genetics probably doesn’t have anything to do with it cuz my father is 5 foot 9, my mother is 5 foot 6, my sister is 5 foot 7, and my brother is 5 foot 8. Am I just about done growing or is there still more inches to come? Is there anything I can do to either make myself shorter or stop my growth if I’m still growing?? I want to do it naturally, not by medicine or drugs. And do you girls like tall guys?

If you know someone that you think is on the unhealthy path to an eating disorder, what would you be looking for to confirm it?
I am not sure if this is anorexia or an ED. The girl in question has always been naturally skinny/thin even as a child, had to be forced to finish meals, always been a picky eater, stayed the same weight since she was 19 (she is 25 now) even though she’s grown a few inches taller in those years. Her BMI is in the underweight category though not morbidly so (BMI of 17.5). Takes a very long time to eat each meal. Prefers substituting a meal with milkshakes if she can. Carefully avoids junk food but eats anything with a high carb content (rice, pasta, noodles, etc.) and cannot do without milk/curd daily. Occasionally has fainting spells/light headedness (esp. around period time). Does not always feel hungry and can go for hours without eating. Lives by choice a very sedentary lifestyle.
However she does not check for calorie content and does not check her weight. The half-yearly weighing check-in is all she knows of her weight, which does not fluctuate too much and has not left the mark it was on five years ago.
She is not interested in food and would rather do without it and often does until she loses energy and blood sugar drops so low that she faints and becomes nauseated.
Why so little interest in food?

So Now Im 17, I posted a thing about growing taller question a few months ago when I was 5’9", and I am VERY proud to say that I am 5’10" and a half. Ive been working out some, getting some sun (not too much, but enough), and eating healthier, and just relaxing and taking it easy. Im about to start swimming because in egypt (Im half egyptian), its a proven fact that swimming laps consistently makes you grow taller(if your still in the "growing phase"), so yeah, mainly my question now is, ‘Is there any other exercises I can do to grow taller?’
why do people keep saying "puberty" to me, isnt a person done with puberty when they are 14 or 15? (no pun intended)

Im 13 and 5’3, going in to 9th grade. My dad is like 5’5 and my mom is 5’1.. ive been growing in the past year, while drinkingmilk and having alot of protein. my grandpa is like 6’1, but my grandma is like 4’11 or 5’0. the rest of my family are all average height..i want to be at least 5’9 one day. could this happen naturally?

I am 15, almost 16 and I am 5’5 1/2, maybe 5’6. I am a late bloomer, I didn’t get my period until 14 and my dad grew until he was 21. Im not sure about my mom, 18 I think. My mom is 5’7 and my dad is 5’10. I’m 100% polish so the polish build is naturally tall and lean, I weigh something like 105 pounds. Anyways, I want to model (I’ve been to several agencies that said I have the perfect face/body type except for my height and though I’ve landed a few jobs I can’t get anything serious unless I grow. Just to let you know, height genetics in my family are quite varied. Its like their more environment influenced than gene influenced. For example my cousins from my moms side are both over 6 foot (an one is a girl) but their parents are pretty short. My cousins from my dads side didn’t follow their parents height at all. My aunts kids for example are all over 6 foot, the tallest is 6’4 and theyre guys by the way but they are all very athletic. Their mom is 5’3 and their dad is 5’7 but theyre giants. On the other hand my uncles kids (girls) are petite. They are 5’1 and 5’4 but their mom and dad are both 5’9. However they are not very athletic. I’ll do anything that has to do with excercise except swimming because I don’t have regular access to a pool. I’ll also take pills/supplements. As far as diet goes I need recommendations that will also keep me skinny because ofcourse that is essential to modeling. My guess is lean meats, fish, and vegetables but I could be wrong. My goal is to be atleast 5’8 so thats only 2 more inches but idealy I’d like to be 5’10. I’ve heard that 4 inches is possible, especially when done at a young age and I have atleast 3 years before my growth plates fuse. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Oh also, if its at all possible I’d like to get to 5’8 in one year because thats when I get my braces off and I can restart modeling. Thanks!! :)

My son has always been little because he was born a premie. He was 3 months early so that will definitely make him smaller then the other kids for a while. He is about to start preschool and when he went for his physical, the doctor said he is underweight. He is 4 and weighs 30lbs and he is 40 in tall.

The thing is, I have never been quite on point with weight either. I was 97lbs my senior year! And my husband is very skinny as well. I don’t want to stuff my son filled with food. He eats like me, little snacks throughout the day as well as the 3 meals a day.

Should I be worried about what the doctor said, or should I just let hi grow naturally?

I’m 14 and I think I’m taller than average. I’m 182 lbs, 6’1" and I wear a 15 wide shoe (in men’s size).

And for women, my girlfriend is 15, 124 lbs, 5’10" and wears size 6 shoe (in women’s size). I have no clue where she is next to average.

If you do not know what a shoe lift is, it is a heel that guys can put in their shoe to make them look an inch of two taller.

Now I am a guy and I’m about to see a girl that I’ve known online for a few years and she is VERY subconscious about her height (She thinks I’m 5"10 but I’m really 5"8. The same height as her) but I’m going to wear a 2 inch shoe lift to make her feel more comfortable.

Now do you think it’s a big deal if a guy wears shoe lifts? I mean if you really like the guy but feel a bit insecure about being seen the same height or shorter than him then wouldn’t you not mind him wearing shoe lifts in public?

Okay, I’m currently just turned 16 and I’m a fluent weightlifter. I’m 5’4 I have been lifting weights since I was 14. My dad’s 5’10, mom is 5’4, little brother that 12 5’0, and my oldest brother is 6’1. So is there anyway that I can my myself taller and don’t give me that genetic crap because every male on my mother side of the family is over 6 feet and the men on my dad side are not short but only my brother and one of my uncles is over 6 feet, the other is 5’7, but my grandpa was over 6 feet and my dad was 5’10 since he was 13, he stunt his growth because of an illness, so should stop lifting weights, but I’m at 215 on my bench and really not considering that, so is there anyway you guys can help me out a little.

Vigorous exercise increases the amount of HGH (human growth hormone) in the body… right? And HGH is what causes the body to grow taller… right? (Please correct me if I’m wrong). If so, then why do all the scientists say that exercise does not make one taller, and that genetics and proper nutrition are the only two factors that contribute to one’s height? Are they lying?

Right here it goes….. I want to know abouts when I will start my period, please help! Im 13 and less than a month away from being 14, my mum started her period when she was 13 – 14.5, she cant really remember… I started developing breasts over 2 and a half years ago, and I have quite a lot of hair down their, bushy and dark.. I have discharge most days, and I recently started to get underarm hair and now have to shave their. I recently grew and inch or two, and I’m naturally tall as it is, and my height is now 5.58 feet!? Ahah, I’m quite skinny and recently I’ve been having mood swings, and cramps which I don’t normally get! Also, may sound wierd… But for the past week/weeks, i’ve had like a few pains in my vagina area, only for a minute or two, then they go?! They occur every other day now really… Please help me!
