I’m a guy, I am 19 years old and I’m 5′4

My parents are around the same height, so I doubt I will get any taller.

Sometimes I wonder why my mom had to marry a a guy who’s shorter than the average guy, but not much I can do about that, nor would I ever dare say anything about that as I realize that would be wrong/rude/etc. But someone with English, Irish, Dutch and French heritage should be at least 6′0+

I am willing to do ANYTHING, ANYTHING to get taller. So I’m considering leg lengthening surgery, which is extremely painful and recovery can be up to a year, but I’m willing to do it. I looked it up and insurance will cover it. Problem is that supposedly some places won’t do it for people who are above 5′0, so I’m wondering if I’d even be allowed to do it?

I’m also wondering if other people would look down on me for doing it? Do you think it’s a good idea? Please be honest, thanks.

I have a good job, I’m taking my master’s, I’m fashionable, I keep in good shape, I do martial arts, and I’m outgoing. I’m also a 5′ 4" man, and no matter how many accomplishments I put under my belt, people still pity me, and I pity myself. I can’t even show any signs of weakness because I’d distance myself from my friends and family. I’m not ignorant, and I know height determines a man worth despite politically correct words of encouragement.

There is a procedure to increase height 2"-3", but it costs ,000 and a year of your life. I’ve also read it is one of the most painful experiences people have ever had and has a small chance of terrible complications; yet I feel this is one of the few options I have left. Any advice is welcome, but I think you really need to be a short man to understand the situation I’m going through right now.

The cost is not a concern . Would hospitals provide rooms for you to stay during recovery?

I have quite bulky leg muscels which make me look smaller/shorter than I actually am!!So im trying to get long lean muscels like Selena Gomez’s legs??How can i do this and dont just say for example:
Pilates tell me what pilates exercises and show pictures if possible???!!Thanks to all!!

(This is just to see people’s opinions on this subject.)
Im an 18 year old male. I stand barefoot at 5 foot 4 inches tall. My inseam is 25 inches. I was wondering if It is a good idea to get height surgery. Anytime I type this into google they take me to an article about someone who has this big clunky external fixator attached to their leg. What these things do is that they pull the leg apart 1mm per day after they have basically broken it. The bone grows and people end up being inches taller. That is not what I want to do. There are internal nails that they have invented also, even a robotic one. In particular I like one called albizzia that they developed in france which can increase a maximum of four inches. I want to have this thing done twice on my tibia and femur increasing my height at about 8 inches. Average height is about 5′9-5′11, average inseam is 32 or 34. With 8 inches added that would make me 6 feet tall with a 33 inch inseam. My wingspan is also at about 5′8, which to me makes no sense. Please tell me your opinion on this subject.

- also dont plan on doing it for another 5 years.
- This would also put me an estimated year in france first 4 months in a wheelchair, two months of recovery then again.Im also considering doing it a year apart depending on what the doctor says is okay. Doing it at the same time is not a good idea and most people who do that end up bedridden

Will Ballet alone work to make them longer and leaner?
stretching is a part of ballet. I just dpn’t wany bulky muscles. I want beautiful long lean ballerina muscles. and im wondering if ballet will help lengthen them (i’ll do ballet whether it does or not) im a ballerina… but I was wondering if it helped.

I am scheduled to have a gastrocnemius tendon lengthening before christmas and I will be in a cast for at least 6 weeks. I’m worried as I am moving to live in uni soon so I will be living in halls when I have the op. Not only that but my room is at the top of four flights of stairs. After the op on one leg, they are then going to do it on the other leg so all in all I’m gonna be on crutches for about five months. I was just wondering if anyone had had an op like this and could let me know what to expect as I’m quite worried.

i am 5′4….but i want to be 5′6-5′7

i want to know everything there is about the surgery!!!!
sooo please…no dumb answers!!!!!!
my legs dont bow…i just want to be taller ( and yes they will do it for that reason)
i dont have a disorder….just need it for modeling and i am about to be 15 in a month and a half!!!!!!!!

I’m 17 going on 18 and I’m 5′6”. I desire to model, but I need to be at least 5′8”. Is this surgery worth it and safe? I want to get it when I’m around 21, not now, when I’m sure I’m done growing and when I save up money, is it acceptable at any age? And how much and how long is the recovery time? Thanks in advance.

Women in china are using leg lengthening procedures to look better and get better jobs, what do you think?
this is for a women’s studies course, not me

okay i’m in high school and i’m veryy short. to be specific i’m 4′11. also i have extremely muscular legs from sports. last year i got best dressed for my grade so obviously i like to dress well and be seen. just some clothes i know my legs look waaayy too short. any tips on jeans, shoes, or anything that would make my legs look longer??

Does anybody have any info about it? I’m 16 and 5′6", and I’m planning to get it later on in life if I don’t grow. There’s a good chance that I won’t, considering that my mom is 5′6" and my dad is 5′7".

So anyways, I hear it’s expensive. How much does it cost (around)?

Also, how long does recovery take? And can the procedure be done in America? Thanks in advance.

Im currently 16 years old and today at the hospital, i was told that i need leg lengthening surgery on one of my legs because it is between 2 and 3 centimeters shorter than the other.
There are two factors which are really putting me off of the surgery, the first being the amount of recovery time. I play a lot of sport and was told i would be out of action for an average of six months.

The thing i really want to know, is how pain full it is, when the left is actually being lengthened, i have heard that a dial on the brace is turned possibly each day, to stretch the leg by a millimeter maybe?

I realldon’tnt do very well with pain, small things really feel like agony to me! Perhaps you can say im a wimp lol but its true!

I would just like someone to be honest and tell me how pain full actually turning of the dial is each time

Thank you

i am 5′6", 25 years old, and just now learning how we short men are basicly not attractive to women and would be considered at the bottom of there list when it comes to potential mates..

the legs longer?

just a thought. I’ve always wondered why they don’t do it that way, it seems a lot safer and lot a less painful!

Im 5′2 and in my early -very early- 20’s, and have short legs. I think about cosmetic leg lengthening almost everyday. Every morning -while im getting dressed- is a constant reminder of how disproportionate my legs are to the rest of me. Im doing this to feel good about myself. im grateful for what i have, but hate how insecure i am about my legs. I don’t think its normal to obsess about long -even normal- sized legs as much as i do. Im always looking at others in jeans and think "wish i could wear skinny jeans with flats". Everything i do is dedicated to get taller; ie. constantly stretching, workout alot, take vitamins to promote growth, continuously reading of Cosmetic leg lengthening surgery or on diets to promote growth. I definitely want to do the surgery; Also -no offense to those abroad- but, I’d only do it in the U.S. The only thing holding me back is the money. To be straightforward I need to raise 0,000, and though i can’t repay you with cash, i can offer to answer all your questions, provide a daily blunt/raw blog of how im feeling after surgery, or if physical therapy is doable, what exactly this "excruciating pain" really is,whatever it is that you want to know. I can tell you everything im going through, whether to help you make your own decision about doing the surgery or just for your sheer entertainment or maybe you really want to help me from your heart. I would be so blessed to get this surgery financed, it would be a dream come true. And who knows if someone -maybe you- could help me. :) Like the saying goes….You never know until you try. You would help with my sanity too.

i am really interested to have cosmetic leg lengthening procedure. i’m 5′0 slim /slender . 34c,23,35.I’m happy with my figure but i really dont like my height. I’m 20 yrs old and im vain. I’m not happy and satisfied with the way i look…although alot of my friends envy my body still i wanna be taller …3-4 inches would be fine beco’s my goal is not to be that tall but i dont wanna look short. Im asian bdw. Is there any place or country that will do those kinda procedures? and how much and what are th side effects?

does any one know Random hero leg lengthening forum website address?

I.e. when the bones are cut and pulled apart so they grow back together and the person gains inches – would their legs look out of proportion with the rest of their body? Or does it all just fit into place? I would consider it but I don’t wanna look like a numpty lol. Any before-and-after pictures available on the net?

Thanks a lot.

no lie..google it..

its very painful.
