I mean, I watch all those shows — "What Not To Wear," "How Do I Look," and "Ten Years Younger" — in which the fashionistas say that shoes with unnaturally pointed toes give the allusion of lengthened legs. I don’t see it that way at all; all I see are cruel shoes, the toes of which come to such a comical point that they are almost up-turned and ought to have little bells on the end, or something.
It used to be that a woman would cram her feet into shoes smaller than her size because no-one wanted to appear to have big feet. Some cultures even bound feet to keep them from growing. Nowadays, we’re told by the so-called experts that pointy-toed footwear, which actually add extra inches to the length of the shoe, are all the rage. I just don’t get it.
I’ll say this: The pointy toes complement the points atop the experts’ heads.
Do I have to run? I don’t want to build more bulky muscle, I just want to lengthen and lean up my legs. If it means I have to walk, how long would I have to do that(distance)?
one of my friends has been advised to have shoke wave therapy after the leg Lengthening procedure . is it painful and why it is performed.
I need it for research!
I’m 5’7" so I’m not too unsatisfied with my height, but my upper body vs. lower body is somewhat disproportionate. Any answers that can help with leg lengthening (no hormones, no surgery) or any height increasing website/resources would help.
Why doesn’t Tom Cruse get legs lengthening so be can be taller?
He will be perfect physically if he was a little bit taller. I love this guy! He’s so hot!
If a guy is 23 years old, can any of these options work?
I hear ankle weights and stretching work if you’re still in your early 20s?
We aren’t looking for a biiiiig, dramatic change in height, probably an inch from each? Maybe 3 inches total?
About a 2 weeks ago my 14 yr old son had leg lengthening surgery. He has a fixature on his right femour from his hip to his knee. This has been very painful. He is on pain meds and has to go to therapy everyday for four hours at a time. This experience has been very difficult so far. I have been by his side every second and Im wearing down. Is there anything I can do to help him cope along with myself.
I have been trying to find a way to lengthen my back leg but i can’t. It is worst on my jete’s or my switchsplits. I have great air time and height its just that stupid back leg. Can anyone please help?

I’m a 5’5 guy with short legs. I got a towering 6’3 friend. He has a pair of legs as short as mine. His has a very obvious lengthy spine. I don’t want to be like him. I want longer legs. How to achieve that?
I saw this on the Oprah show. The surgery looks very painful! They surgeons cut part of the bone out and put bolts into the legs that are suppose to stretch the remaining bones and make the legs longer. The patient is out of commission for a few months and the surgery costs between , 000 – ,000 dollars! And how does "height determines success" in Asian countries when probably 95% of the Asians there are short? It’s a common thing there. There are not a lot of Yao Mings there. He’s actually kind of rare. Whatever happened to being hired because you had a smart brain, and why are so many people in the world so superficial? Even Lisa Ling couldn’t understand it and she’s Asian. She did the report on it.
The show was on Asians doing this. That’s why I spoke on the Asians doing it. This is not the first crazy thing that they have done, they also used to wrap women’s feet to keep them small. In some places in Asia, they may still do that. And I know that Americans do equally crazy things too, but that’s not the point. Most Asians tend to be short and that’s just the way it is. They say the surgery is for success, but I think it’s just a superficial thing. It’s just like how many Asians are trying their best to look like White people. They’re even getting surgery to change their eye shapes!
That’s not what I meant by mentioning Lisa Ling. You took that completely out of context. Lisa did the report, and as an Asian American woman who has had much success in life in her shorter size, could not understand the obsession that some Asians had on getting taller to be "successful".
I’m 17 and I either want one of three surgeries….either leg lengthening, rhinoplasty, or cosmetic (facial &back- little of those ) remove blemish…
1) has anyone had rhinoplasty?how much?recovery? pls. help me out
2) has anyone had leg lengthening? how much? i know it take months to recover but pls. tell me how it feels and how long you had to recover?
3) has anyone had their blemishes removed? how much? recovery time? what is the surgery called? does the lasering hurt?
I’m a guy, I am 19 years old and I’m 5’4
My parents are around the same height, so I doubt I will get any taller.
Sometimes I wonder why my mom had to marry a a guy who’s shorter than the average guy, but not much I can do about that, nor would I ever dare say anything about that as I realize that would be wrong/rude/etc. But someone with English, Irish, Dutch and French heritage should be at least 6’0+
I am willing to do ANYTHING, ANYTHING to get taller. So I’m considering leg lengthening surgery, which is extremely painful and recovery can be up to a year, but I’m willing to do it. I looked it up and insurance will cover it. Problem is that supposedly some places won’t do it for people who are above 5’0, so I’m wondering if I’d even be allowed to do it?
I’m also wondering if other people would look down on me for doing it? Do you think it’s a good idea? Please be honest, thanks.
I have a good job, I’m taking my master’s, I’m fashionable, I keep in good shape, I do martial arts, and I’m outgoing. I’m also a 5′ 4" man, and no matter how many accomplishments I put under my belt, people still pity me, and I pity myself. I can’t even show any signs of weakness because I’d distance myself from my friends and family. I’m not ignorant, and I know height determines a man worth despite politically correct words of encouragement.
There is a procedure to increase height 2"-3", but it costs ,000 and a year of your life. I’ve also read it is one of the most painful experiences people have ever had and has a small chance of terrible complications; yet I feel this is one of the few options I have left. Any advice is welcome, but I think you really need to be a short man to understand the situation I’m going through right now.
The cost is not a concern . Would hospitals provide rooms for you to stay during recovery?
I have quite bulky leg muscels which make me look smaller/shorter than I actually am!!So im trying to get long lean muscels like Selena Gomez’s legs??How can i do this and dont just say for example:

(This is just to see people’s opinions on this subject.)
Im an 18 year old male. I stand barefoot at 5 foot 4 inches tall. My inseam is 25 inches. I was wondering if It is a good idea to get height surgery. Anytime I type this into google they take me to an article about someone who has this big clunky external fixator attached to their leg. What these things do is that they pull the leg apart 1mm per day after they have basically broken it. The bone grows and people end up being inches taller. That is not what I want to do. There are internal nails that they have invented also, even a robotic one. In particular I like one called albizzia that they developed in france which can increase a maximum of four inches. I want to have this thing done twice on my tibia and femur increasing my height at about 8 inches. Average height is about 5’9-5’11, average inseam is 32 or 34. With 8 inches added that would make me 6 feet tall with a 33 inch inseam. My wingspan is also at about 5’8, which to me makes no sense. Please tell me your opinion on this subject.
- also dont plan on doing it for another 5 years.
- This would also put me an estimated year in france first 4 months in a wheelchair, two months of recovery then again.Im also considering doing it a year apart depending on what the doctor says is okay. Doing it at the same time is not a good idea and most people who do that end up bedridden
Will Ballet alone work to make them longer and leaner?
stretching is a part of ballet. I just dpn’t wany bulky muscles. I want beautiful long lean ballerina muscles. and im wondering if ballet will help lengthen them (i’ll do ballet whether it does or not) im a ballerina… but I was wondering if it helped.
I am scheduled to have a gastrocnemius tendon lengthening before christmas and I will be in a cast for at least 6 weeks. I’m worried as I am moving to live in uni soon so I will be living in halls when I have the op. Not only that but my room is at the top of four flights of stairs. After the op on one leg, they are then going to do it on the other leg so all in all I’m gonna be on crutches for about five months. I was just wondering if anyone had had an op like this and could let me know what to expect as I’m quite worried.
i am 5’4….but i want to be 5’6-5’7
i want to know everything there is about the surgery!!!!
sooo please…no dumb answers!!!!!!
my legs dont bow…i just want to be taller ( and yes they will do it for that reason)
i dont have a disorder….just need it for modeling and i am about to be 15 in a month and a half!!!!!!!!
I’m 17 going on 18 and I’m 5’6”. I desire to model, but I need to be at least 5’8”. Is this surgery worth it and safe? I want to get it when I’m around 21, not now, when I’m sure I’m done growing and when I save up money, is it acceptable at any age? And how much and how long is the recovery time? Thanks in advance.
