Has anyone ever had a doctor give you a lift to put in your shoe for low back pain?
I went to a Chiropracter and he said that my right leg might be shorter than the left one and suggested I put a lift in my right shoe. It has helped my back pain somewhat during the day. Has anyone else had that experience?

You may want to see an orthopedic doctor first. A chiropractor told me this one time, and I decided to go to another doctor for a second opinion. It turned out my hips were slightly out of alignment, which made it appear to the chiropractor that my legs were slightly different lengths. You do not treat hip alignment problems the same way as you do leg problems, so make sure this is truly the problem. Good luck!
I have done this for years. Actually having orthodics made specifically for your feet is also helpful. At some shoe stores they have inserts for various arch situations and they also help. These specific shoes store have a machine that you stand on and it will automatically tell which insert is needed.
Yes my mom..and it has helped her enormously.
i work in a physical therapy clinic and we do that all of the time. all it does is help restore your gait and stop you from being shifted which is whats probably causing all of your pain
yes, well similar…
I was given a lift for knee pain, apparently my feet turned inwards which is what was causing the pain, I know they are the professionals but with all due respect that was bull sh!t.
yes my feet do turn inwards but the pain was due to an injury sustained years before, if it was not then why havn’t I always had the pain?
To me (I am no professional but know my own body) this was a last resort because they ran out of ideas, I did wear them for a week and felt little difference, they are very inconvinent as they can only be worn with trainers or flat wide shoes, i’m not vain but I cant live in shoes like that espicially for work!
My thoughts are negative however if they are helping you then please continue to wear them.
FYI- I found swimming worked best for building strength and reducing the pain
Have you got one leg longer than the other? Is you spine bend to one side.
Sorry I know Chiroprators go to medical school but see a real doctor for this. Chiroprators can do more damage than good sometimes. If you don’t know exactly why he gave you the lift. the factors of his decision I would see a 2nd doctor.
