How can I increase my HEIGHT in the long jump?
I need to know how to get more height off the board. What I’m doing is lowering my hips a couple inches before I jump, but I have a feeling I am doing this a little too early and having to hold it a little. I am looking for technique tips as well as suggestions for exercises to increase leg strength/height.

You slightly lower your center of gravity on the next to last step. This allows you to drive up on the last step.
To gain height lift your knee and opposite hand high.
In other words, drive the knee up with the off side arm and hand as you jump.
Keep your hips and shoulders high, don’t crouch over.
You can do pop ups off the board into the sand, where you use a 5 step approach.
To improve leg strength do weights and plyometrics.
Don’t jump over a hurdle or object between the board and the pit, you do not want to bunch up you want to stretch your body up.
