How does calcium help you grow taller?
Ok so in all the commercials for like got milk and stuff it says that calcium helps kids grow up taller and whatnot. It says that it makes them taller and makes the bones stronger… How exactly does calcium make you taller? I’m 14 and I was wondering if I drank a lot of milk would it make me grow taller? I still have a lot of growing left to do as my growth plates are not closed yet… Thanks to all.

Just stay away from junk food, fast food garbage & sugary sweet soda’s.
Eat healthy, get plenty of fresh air, sunshine & exercise & that’s all you can do.
Genetics rule – you cannot re-program genetics.
No, any adverts that make those claims are bullsheeting you. Here in the UK the law is really strict when it comes to claims like that. They must be backed up by a wealth of evidence, so you never hear such bullsheet here.
How tall you get comes down to genetics.
If you want to be taller just set that goal. Don’t think bad thoughts that you will forever be short just set your head into believing you’ll grow, believe me it works. The mind has not limit when used properly. Don’t try those things that stretch you out, they just pop your joints, and don’t try steroids they won’t work. l’ m 24 and i am 6’0 , my father 5’7 and mum 5’4. l was the same height as my father 8 months ago and l was always told that l would not grow over 5’7 , the height can’t be controlled , height was determined by your genetic ,inheritance etc. i was really fed up with these narrow- minded people around me and l hit the road for a solution. l have researched books , doctors and internet high and low for increasing height, and tried many growth boosters. From my experience what worked on me :
1. Eat lots of Broccoli.
2. Eat at least 250gr yougurt every day.
3. Regular Swimming helps.
4. Sleep without pillows, and sleep at least 8 hrs daily.
5. Super-Growth works http://www.growtallersupplements.net or http://www.super-growth.org
6. Use an inversion table for 20- 30 minutes every day.
Follow the tips above and you’ll grow a few inches taller regardless of your age.
That’s because calcium is needed to make bones. And no, it’s not all down to genetics. The environment you live in matters too and so does your lifestyle. If you happen to live in a cave where you’re deprived of sunlight, you’d be lacking vitamin D which is needed for the absorption of calcium. So even if it’s in your genes for you to be tall, you wouldn’t become tall since you don’t have the proper nutrients needed to build your bones.
I just read in the newspaper that calcium pills can bring us cancer. Eat food that can help you with natural calcium, such as broccoli and other vegetables. You are still very young, but if it is bothering not to be taller, go swimming. It will certainly help you! Good luck!
