if you had a surgery from scoliosis, are you still able to grow taller?
i had a surgery from scoliosis when i was in 6th grade, and now im like inches smaller than my lil sister, but i was just wondering if i still can grow taller.

No when they fuse your spine it stops you growing this is what i was told when i had surgery at 14 i was stretched to 5ft and i am now 37 and haven’t grown at all i remain just 5ft,
fusing affects the growth plates in the spine and other parts i am the shortest out of all my sisters,
my teenage nephew is taller than me, and my 9year old nephew is up to my shoulder and is sure to pass me in growth, this is why surgeons prefer to wait until you have grown a bit before doing the surgery,
we wont grow with a rod and fused spine pity!
First of all how old are you now? And I don’t mean for this to get personal or anything, but if you already started your period then you are 95% of your adult height. This means that if you have already started you have ONE growth spurt left to go. But if you haven’t started yet, surgery isn’t going to hinder your growing unless the doctor really screwed you up. Hahah. Bottom line is that if you have started you have one growth spurt left to go, and if you haven’t started then the surgery isn’t going to affect your growth. Hope this helped
You stand a better chance than with the disease.
usually when you have the surgery when you are young they put what they call growing rods in they let you grow normally but i don’t know they mite not have done it for you. you should ask you doctor.
