Is it true sitting for long periods of time will help you grow taller?
I heard that if you sit for a long time your body will grow faster. I’m about 5′ 5" and want to be closer to 6 feet. It’s been summer vacation for two weeks and I haven’t left sitting in my room really at all during this time. I haven’t noticed much, though. Is this even going to make me taller?

Sitting for long periods of time will just make your bum numb. After standing up for long periods of time, your body become compressed because of gravity. When you sleep, you body naturally decompresses itself, causing you to regain maybe 1/4 of an inch.
Enjoy your summer, there’s nothing you can do to make yourself taller, other than stuffing your shoes : )

It’s 99.8% in the genes. 0.2% in your activities, diet, overall health, environment, etc
It is not true that you will grow sitting, but studies show that you grow more when you are laying down. That is why parents say to their kids, get some rest and you will grow. You wont see dramatic changes, like, you can’t grow 3 inches, you will grow maybe a half of an inch.
