Is there a vitamin that would cause someone to grow taller?
I heard about a vitamin drink over the radio years ago that claimed to have properties to it that could result in the drinker growing taller. It also claimed that it would work on anyone up to their mid-twenties. Two of my younger siblings and myself could all use it. We are looking for an alternative to growth hormones. Thanks so much!

A vitamin could only have an impact to make one grow taller if one was deficient in that vitamin in the first place. A deficiency in any one nutrient could have a negative impact on growth, as with health in general. Zinc, a mineral, if deficient in this could stunt growth and/or sexual development.
If you are still at the growing age, make sure you eat healthily, and stay away from additives…particularly MSG [found in pot noodles, and many crisps and similar snacks...check labels] and aspartame [found in many fizzy drinks and fruit squashes...check labels]. Eat seeds and nuts to provide valuable minerals for growth….pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds and walnuts are good choices. If you are non-vegetarian, red meats and fish are good for growth. Drink lots of milk if you are not allergic to that. The minerals [particularly calcium] in milk are good for growth
Get plenty of sleep. There is some evidence from some research that getting to bed early, preferably before 11pm, and sleeping the full quota solid [7-9 hours in one go] can help boost growth hormone production. Had read such researc a few years back, however I don’t have the reference to hand. I expect you have heard the saying anyway: early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.. Perhaps there really is much wisdom in that.
Find ways to de-stress because stress has a negative impact on health, including perhaps growth. Take up meditation…it boosts the right brain waves that are anti-stress. Drink lemon balm tea…it may help with relaxation. Take regular baths and add a little essential oil of lavender and/or sandalwood to the bath water, and a little Epsom salts may also help.
Stay away from hormones [be safe]… unless of course a medical doctor has advised otherwise, in which case they would be taken under medical supervision and prescribed by a medical doctor. Be safe always…..that is better.
Best wishes.
A few things that help…
I was 5’7 at 23. now I am turning 24 in a month and I am 6’0. I grew the most during last summer because I actually started using a herbal product height enhancer 6 month course.
the following helped me and still help:
1) Drinking at least 2 big glasses of milk a day.
2.) playing basketball and going swimming. Basketball really helps, and you should also work out your calves and thigh muscles, that helps too.
3)Eat alot, because when I started to get taller I didn’t gain a pound but I looked skinnier.
