I’m currently in the market for a puppy. I’ve already picked out the breed I want, and have been searching for breeders and for as much information as I can possibly find.
All the breeders I’ve found sell the puppy on a pet contract only. Meaning that the puppy will never be bred and will not be a show dog. They all have a spay/neuter contract that needs to be sign, the puppy has to be spayed/neutered between the ages of 4 and 6 months. If the puppy does not have the procedure by the stated age, the papers corresponding to it will never be sent, and the health guarantee will be void.
Aside from not liking the spaying/neutering procedure, due to the fact that I wouldn’t want to put the puppy in unnecessary pain, I’ve done my research on the subject, and there is so much debate about it.
Yeah, I know it can prevent cancer in both males and females, but I’ve also read that it can affect the puppies growth. According to what I read, the puppy can actually keep growing past what it was naturally supposed to be, some dogs get taller than normal.
Sorry for the long explanation. My question is the following, does spaying/neutering a puppy at a young age actually affect it in any way? Is it better to do the procedure when it has finished maturing?
I try to understand why breeders want this, one reason being that they don’t want the pureness of their breed to be broken by some person mixing breeds. They don’t want to the puppy to end up in a puppy mill, with unscrupulous people just breeding them to make a quick buck.
But I’m scared that in the long run, it will only cause the puppy harm instead of "good", and paying what I intend on paying for a dog that will not look like what I’m being shown, will hurt me a lot.
Hope this all makes sense, I apologize for making it so long, I just want to know more about the subject.
Thanks!

Im 15YO and I have this lymph node on my right groin, it isn’t rock hard, it is very mobile, its not painful at all, its 1 cm in diameter. Its been there for about 3 or 4 years. Thats when I started losing weight and growing tall and getting thin. When I look in mirror, most of the time I cant see it pop out or anything. When it does show (very rarely) you can just barely see it honestly. I have to get glasses in order to see it. Im tall and lenky (6′ 3" and 175lbs.). My parents and friends have all told me to stop worrying and Im going to think myself into a cancer. My node on my left side is somewhat the same way except you cant see it as much as the right when you can see it in the mirror. It started to become visible a little bit the exact same time my right one did, the same day and everything. Im a hypacondriac and I freak out over every ache. Ive heard from other forums that this is normal and some nodes are more palpable and everyone has a node more visible than others.

I am planning to buy a female German Shepherd and I have heard lots of stuff from lots of websites and forums.
I’ve heard that dogs spayed at 6 months grow way taller then normal and have more brittle bones because they needed their hormones. So because of that, Hip Dysplasia chances are increased and that’s like a doubly whammy to a GSD.
But if they are spayed before their first/second heat, the chances of mammary cancer is reduced significantly.

I’ve also hears that dogs that are spayed around 1-2 years old are better physically and emotionally.
Though the chance of mammary cancer is 1 in 4.

SO, what would you guys do and recommend?
Crap, another source says that when spayed, the growth hormones are slowed so bones get stronger?

I was just wondering if he is? I am doing a little reading, but I found something really hard to believe. It is said that Erickson was able to make a man grow taller with hypnosis. I don’t think this is possible, but I am not saying it is *impossible*. I decided to do some research and found that every cell in our bones replace them selves the same way we grow. I have also read about hypnosis involved in things like mole removal, cancer, and pain management. To be fair really we don’t see many hypnosis studies about these kinds of things, how can we say it’s impossible? I don’t like to under estimate the power of the mind. I have read a lot of placebo studies and found them intriguing. pretty interesting to be honest. I don’t know though, just wondering If Milton Erickson is a reputable hypnotist?

I’m 5’4" and my mom is 5’9"-5’10" and my dad is 5’7"-5’8". My sister is 1 year older than me and shes 6’0"! Wtf, why am I so short!! Im hoping this 1/2 inch will mean I’ll grow a lot. Lol what does it typcially mean when your feet grow 1/2 an inch? I heard your feet grow before your body grows, so its a sign. My foot size is now 10 1/2 so I have to get 11. My sisters feet are size 13. What am I doing wrong? Like should I sleep more? Exercise more? I dont exercise much.. does that have to do with it? Im 165 pounds.. a little overweight according to the BMI calculator. does that come to play? Wahh..help. Im 16.. im not too late to grow right? Last time I really grew was from 4’8" to 5’3" around the time I was 10. I would love to grow to be 5’8"… 4 inches to go.. I’ll even be happy with 5’7".. anything less is unbearable for me. Especially since Im a volleyball player. Im OH, and Im not getting far if I’m the shortest hitter.. I wonder who the coaches esp for college teams, would be looking for. I wonder who would have an easier time jumping high and everything.. the taller peeps. I want to lose weight anyways. And people are like "when your shorter theres more guys to choose from!" uMMMM no! cause i dont wanna be with a short guy! I wanna be tall so I can be with a taller guy and have tall kids and etc. help!! what type of vitamins help you in general for teens and help you to grow taller too? and are like.. okay and wont give me cancer. k thanks!
