The book is about freshman kids who realize that high school can change a person and that friendships don’t last forever. That not everything is like the movies, and cliches are only made for TV. Their stories are told from a third person point of view and their
lives are revealed throughout the book. Here are some descriptions of the characters…

Spencer Jerry, a 15 year old girl who people secretly envy for her exotic beauty is five foot five, very thin(due to a secret eating disorder she struggles with), has straight long jet black hair with a streak of blonde in the front. She’s naturally tan and has a "Punk" laid back style. Even though Spencer is pretty, she doesn’t act like it, for she is not self centered. She’s very calm and is friends with everyone due to her witty and fun personality and is known to make everyone smile. Spencer knows that she can get any guy and feels she needs a challenge. Later on in the book Spencer makes a bet with her friend Cady Renolds that she can get any girl to lik her. Cady, thinking that she’ll win this with flying colors, agrees to the bet. Spencer goes on and wins the bet by getting Tara Morgan to kiss her. After the victory, Spencer soon realizes that she actually did feel something when she kissed Tara and is confused as to whether or not she likes girls. Spencer then goes on with life thinking that what she was going through was just a phase, but soon finds out it’s anything but when she sees "the new girl". She falls quickly to think she’s in love with the new girl, but only time can tell how spencers feelings will unfold. Spencer doesn’t tell anyone though, for she knows being gay is greatly frowned upon in her community.

Cady Renolds, a 14 year old girl, is best friends with Spencer although she is very different from her. Cady is an inch taller and has a naturally big body frame but is not fat. She has pale skin, blonde hair, blue eyes, and is known to be the "typical american" She is quite boy obsessive even though she’s never really done anything with a guy besides hugging. She’s fairly smart and tries to follow in the steps of her sister Carmen who is the most popular senior in school. Cady has a "preppy" style. She goes through life acting care free but honestly cares about every single detail in her life. Early on in the book, Spencer grows tired of Cady due to the fact Cady always cares about her appearence and overly obsesses over the male race. They soon make up which results in "The Bet". Well I have to questions that don’t really relate to one another. Feel free to answer only one.

So…
1. I’m and a 14 year old girl at 5 feet. Almost 5 foot 1, and in the past I may have stunted my growth due to over excercise and over healthy eating. I know that sounds odd. In 6th grade for a month i didn’t eat any sweets, and never ate after five pm. But i lost like 13 pounds that month. I may have stunted my growth with my unintentional diet. (i had like vinegar with like everything too btw) My mom is about 5 foot 3 and my dad is 5 foot 10 will i still grow enough to become about 5 foot 5 or taller?

2. My second question has to do with hair. I have naturally curly hair, but use those hot curlers in my hair to make them perfect and so that all the curls look even. I want to have those same great curls but i don’t want to damage my hair. Any suggestions?
Oh and by the way i started my period in 5th grade if that changes anything.
