what do you about leg lengthening?
I am thinking about getting leg lengthening done and I was wondering about what you all think about the operation.
if you read my other post you will know why i want to get this done

Leg lengthening is a matter of breaking your bones and using traction to lengthen the bone. It does not happen quickly and will likely be disallowed for someone who is considered to still be in their growing years. It is slow because you can only separate the bones by a small gap, wait for them to heal and break the leg again, repeating the process until the desired length is achieved.
This also sets up differences in the bodies natural proportion that can lead to other physical therapy issues. Unequal muscle tensions and stretching ligaments. Any advantage in height would be countered in the time you have to stay away from sports to heal
I don’t think this is a real option for you yet.
WHAT!? no- be happy with who you are. that seems like an extreme way to try to feel better about yourself.. & very painful! go to a therapist & talk about your body image issues- (none of us are perfect)

I only know that it can be done successfully anyway that’s what i saw on tv it takes time though and it must hurt but I guess when we really want something bad enough we make the effort good luck google this you should find stories on line !
you shouldent change to satisfy society.
if you need surgery to make yourself feel good, then your self respect must be low.
your always going to have SOMETHING about yourself that you dislike. you cant always run under the knife for it. as an individual your made differently then everyone else, go ahead, change the way you look for societys idea of beautiful, your just unoriginal to me then.
don’t do it. thats just plain wrong.
try a brain transplant instead
I believe you should stick with what your natural stature because lengthening your legs can cause serious damage to your spine and posture.
If you want to be taller then go to a Chiropractic Office. They adjust your spine and neck. The first time I went they pulled my neck out and the doctor said I was a ‘bendy straw’ because by pulling my neck be added two inches to my height and when he pushed back down I was back to my normal 5’6”.
My uncle got his legs lengthened and he said the pain was horrible and he hobbles now!
Also it depends on how short you are like if you are very, very short…
you could end up limping for the rest of your life along with tons of other complications! but, it’s up to you!

There are surgeons that perform this type of surgery on people whose quality of life will be vastly improved by repairing some physical deformities. The actual process is quite painful, but it has become more successful of the years.
Don’t take surgery too lightly – it’s extremely painful and slow to heal. Do you really want it that bad? And like someone else on here mentioned that you may end up with further problems for the rest of your life afterwards. I’m 5′ and don’t like being short, but I would never go through leg lenghtening surgery.
It consists of many very painful procedures and it takes years to recover. I wouldn’t suggest it be done unless you undergo a psychological exam first. I am serious, and not in any way making fun of you. Bless you on making this decision, but I’d get counseling to see if it is a good option for you.
