Why do I have one leg shorter than the other? Can anything be done besides wearing a weird shoe lift?
I had a small piece of bone that had a benigned tumor in it removed from my left hip. I was 7 or 8 years old in the 1950′s. I wore a cast for a long long time. It was said my parents didn’t take me back to the dctor to have to have the cast removed when it was supposed to.

no, but I know that there are specialists out there that can put a lift on any shoe now, not just orthopedic shoes anymore;; you NEED the lift to keep your whole side in alignment;; if not, you can develop hip, knee, shoulder & low back problems, which can only get more severe over time;; the only other course is that if you ever need a hip replacement (LOL), they may be able to make it the same length (depending on the original length);; you won’t find a doc to give you a hip replacement for your leg length discrepancy alone, not a medical necessity, no functional problem with the hip.. but check into the lifts, again, they do a pretty good job with them these days, & usually people don’t see the difference, unless you walk differently
